Denim Fit Guide

Finding the perfect pair of jeans starts with understanding fit. Use this guide to navigate rise, inseam, stretch, silhouette, and wash — then shop our full collection with confidence.

Rise

Rise is measured from the crotch seam to the top of the waistband at the front. It determines where the jeans sit on your torso.

Mid-Rise (~9"–11" front rise) — Sits at or just below the natural waist. Versatile and comfortable for all-day wear. Our Slim Pull On Mid Rise Gia Glider Jeans feature a 10" front rise — a great benchmark for a flattering, relaxed fit.
High-Rise (11"+ front rise) — Sits at or above the natural waist. Provides extra coverage and a lengthening effect on the leg.
Low-Rise (under 9" front rise) — Sits below the natural waist, at the hip. Best for those who prefer a relaxed, casual feel.

Tip: If you're between rises, mid-rise is the most universally flattering and easiest to style.

Inseam

Inseam is the measurement from the crotch seam down to the hem. It determines how long the leg will be when worn.

Short (~27"–28") — Ideal for petite frames or for a cropped, ankle-grazing look.
Regular (~29"–30") — Fits most average heights. Our Gia Glider Jeans have a 29" inseam, lending a clean, polished line.
Long (31"+) — Works well for taller frames or if you like extra length to wear with heels.

Tip: When in doubt, size up on inseam — it's easy to hem, but impossible to add length.

Stretch & Fabric

The stretch level of a denim fabric affects how the jeans move with you throughout the day — and how they hold their shape over time.

High Stretch / Comfort Knit — Fabrics with a higher proportion of polyester, rayon, and spandex (like our Liverpool Gia Glider blend: 40% Cotton, 32% Polyester, 27% Rayon, 1% Spandex) offer exceptional comfort and recovery. Ideal for all-day wear, travel, and an active lifestyle.
Mid Stretch — A balanced cotton-spandex blend. Retains a classic denim look while offering meaningful give through the seat and thighs.
Rigid / Non-Stretch — 100% cotton or minimal elastane. Structured and long-lasting, but less give. Best for a traditional, tailored denim aesthetic.

Tip: Higher stretch fabrics are particularly well-suited to pull-on styles, which pair well with a comfort-first construction.

Silhouette

Silhouette refers to the overall shape of the jean from hip to hem.

Slim — Tapered through the thigh and knee with a fitted leg opening. Sleek and streamlined, easy to tuck into boots. Our Gia Glider Jeans are a slim silhouette with a 13½" leg opening.
Straight — Consistent width from hip to hem. Relaxed and versatile — pairs well with both sneakers and heels.
Bootcut — Fitted through the thigh with a slight flare below the knee. Designed to sit over boots; visually elongates the leg.
Wide Leg / Flare — A relaxed or dramatic flare from the hip or knee. Fashion-forward and pairs best with a fitted top.
Skinny — The most fitted silhouette, close through the entire leg. Works well with oversized or long tops.

Wash & Colour

Wash refers to the treatment applied to denim to achieve a specific colour and finish.

Black — Versatile and polished. Dresses up easily and pairs with almost anything. A wardrobe staple — our Black Mid Rise Gia Glider Jeans are a bestseller.
Dark Wash (e.g., Lake Blue) — A rich, deep indigo tone. The most dress-appropriate denim wash; pairs well with blazers and heels.
Medium Wash — A classic, true-blue denim tone. Casual and effortless — goes with everything.
Light Wash — A faded or worn-in look. Relaxed and on-trend; pairs best with neutral tops.

Pull-On vs. Zip-Fly

Pull-On — An elasticized or set-in waistband with no zipper or button closure. Often features a faux fly for a polished look. Incredibly comfortable and easy to wear — perfect for travel or all-day comfort. Many of our Liverpool styles are pull-on.
Zip-Fly — Traditional button and zipper closure. A familiar, structured fit with a classic denim look.

Our denim is available in a range of sizes — typically 0 through 14 depending on the style. Sizing may vary slightly by silhouette and vendor. We recommend checking the individual product page for size-specific measurements and available stock.
